FOLLOWING an encounter with Emmanuel Adebayor, Togolese international football star, Sameul Acheampong, a popular coconut seller at Adjiringanor, a suburb of Accra, has achieved great strides in his business.
The encounter with the former Arsenal and Real Madrid star, appears to be the catalyst for the coconut seller's business breakthrough over the period. Checks by MultiCDB revealed that there has been massive improvement in the coconut business for Mr. Acheampong since his encounter with the famed footballer.
From selling on a table with an umbrella over his head as cover against the sun and rains, the young businessman now has a beautifully constructed store to his name as well as attractive brand souvenirs for his coconut which he now serves in transparent plastic bottles.
In an interview with MultiCDB, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Virgin Fresh Coconut, Samuel Acheampong said, "Adebayor is my boss. After visiting and talking with him in his home, one Mr. Brown from the Hisense product managing team advised me to move my coconut into a bottle, which I did. Since then, I can boldly declare I was the first to accomplish this before the rest imitated when I heeded to his advice".
According to Samuel, his coconut business has flourished since his introduction to Adebayor, and that he would have exported a lot more juice if it weren't for external regulations prohibiting the export of his juice.
"One time I attempted to export my juice to California, but was unsuccessful. There is a rough customs division there. However, delivery across the nation is proceeding smoothly", he revealed.
Mr. Acheampong recounted how his life was transformed by the renowned footballer, Adebayor in January 2020 when he visited his stand to patronise him. He said the football star bought a piece of the fruit which he sold at Ghc2 back then, at a price of Ghc200.
Adebayor would not stop there. He would go on to invite some of his celebrity friends and team members to come do same, as well as inviting the young man for a discussion on his coconut business and later set up a sponsorship deal with the Hisense Company Ltd.
