MAN BUILDS IRRIGATION DRONE IN 4 DAYS

Richmond Yeboah, a ..........(age) years old man, has manufactured an irrigation drone to help farmers get water to their crops.

He has also produced an automated house system designed to help users connect to, and use devices in their homes from one point.

According to him, the irrigation drone can work on its own since it has in-built GPS coordinates already programmed into its system which allows it to move about the farm independently while spraying water on the crops.

Speaking at the Kantanka Ghana Tech Expo 2022, Mr. Yeboah shared that the motive behind the manufacture of the drone was to help farmers get water to their crops more quickly on the farm while ensuring that the crops get the right amount of water for their growth.

The irrigation drone, which has an in-built camera, also comes with a radio controller that allows users to control its movements should they find difficulties using the GPS coordinates.

Mr. Richmond Yeboah disclosed that the whole set up of the irrigation drone was drafted on paper before it was finally produced in just four days.

However, the drone doe not fully meet expected standards as it can only fly at a maximum height of 200 feet in the air for just thirty (30) minutes depending on its current battery capacity.

This, he assured, his team, together with him, were assiduously working on to make sure that the device flies at least 400 feet in the air and also last longer in flight.

The drone weighs 1.2kg and carries a weight of 800 grams maximum, which sets the total drone capacity at 2kg.

Touching on his second innovation, the house automation system, which he calls the 'Open Community', Richmond shared that the device was made to save one the stress of having to move directly to the various switches in our homes to turn on or off various home appliances.

The house automation system can be connected to as many as 13 devices and double that number with the help of an extra micro-controller.

The house automation system is simply connected to a mobile phone and is regulated by tapping on the microphone and speaking directly to it. One can as well use the text format to operate it.

Richmond Yeboah is very passionate about his two incredible innovative projects and hopes that they are recognized and patronized by all.
