 She found another guy and left me. I wanted it to work. I wanted her to stay. I begged her to consider how far we've come and look forward to how far we could go. She didn't care. She just wanted to leave so I allowed her.

Unsurprisingly, she went in for the guy who was the reason for the misunderstandings in our relationship. I saw them together and my heart broke all over again. She didn't call me for weeks, not as if I was expecting her calls but one morning she called me;
"Ato, do you still have a copy of my research work?"
"Unless I check. Is anything the problem?"
"I lost everything. I'll be dead if I don't get it by tomorrow. The final submission is this Friday. Please check for me."
I went on my PC and I found the copy of the last update. I did the whole research work. Her only contribution was sending it to her supervisor and coming back with the corrections. I called her, "Yeah I saw it. I have the last copy." She screamed, "Thank God. I'll come for it tomorrow."
When she texted she was coming I replied, "You have a new boyfriend now. Why don't you let him do one for you? This one is mine. I did it. My intellectual property."
She thought I was joking until I blocked her line. She called with another line, which I missed. When I called back it was her boyfriend who picked. He said, "Chairman, my girl is desperate. If it's money you want just say it and we'll pay. Don't do that to her." I replied, "I was in your position when I did this project work for her. Why can't you do the same?"
I blocked him too. It was petty but the best revenge I've ever had on an ungrateful woman who only takes and gives nothing back. I don't know how the story ended but I know it wasn't pretty because I didn't see her graduation pictures.
