Kofi Adams Claims NDC Administration Not Consulted Over Black Stars Technical Team Reshuffle

Kofi Adams, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Buem, has raised concerns over the recent reshuffle within the Black Stars technical team. Adams claims that the current NDC administration was not consulted by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the decision-making process regarding the changes.

The reshuffle, which saw the addition of no less than seven new individuals to the coaching and technical staff, has sparked debate, particularly due to the financial implications. According to Adams, the salaries and bonuses of these newly appointed personnel will be borne by the state, a move he describes as troubling given the lack of government involvement in the selection process.

The reshuffle, which is said to have been carried out without prior consultation with relevant government officials, raises questions about the role of the GFA in making such major decisions. Critics argue that government should have a say in matters that directly impact the national team, especially when public funds are at stake.

Adams further emphasized that the current administration, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, is committed to ensuring the national team's success but believes that transparency and accountability should be prioritized in all decisions involving state resources.

While the GFA has yet to formally respond to these allegations, the controversy highlights the ongoing tension between football authorities and political figures, particularly in relation to the management of the national team.

This latest development is likely to add fuel to the ongoing debate on the governance of Ghanaian football, with many stakeholders calling for more transparency and better communication between the GFA and government officials.
