Special Prosecuter Orders For The Immediate Arrest Of Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive, issuing a warrant for his arrest on charges of criminal conduct.

This development follows the OSP's investigation into the Agyapa Royalties Transaction, a deal that has been under scrutiny for potential corruption. The OSP's decision to declare Ofori-Atta wanted indicates a significant escalation in the investigation.

Ken Ofori-Atta, who served as Finance Minister from 2017 to 2024, has previously defended the Agyapa deal, asserting its legality and criticizing the OSP's assessment of the transaction.

The OSP's action underscores its commitment to combating corruption and holding public officials accountable. The investigation into the Agyapa Royalties Transaction is ongoing, and further developments are anticipated.
