The Minister for the Interior has called on the newly appointed Board of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) to demonstrate boldness and resolve in tackling the growing threat of illicit drug trafficking across Ghana and beyond.
In a formal address during the Board’s inauguration, the Minister emphasized the need for strategic action, institutional integrity, and inter-agency collaboration to dismantle drug networks and safeguard Ghanaian communities. He urged the Board to act decisively and fearlessly in the face of rising regional and international trafficking trends.
The minister further highlighted the impact of drug abuse on public health, youth development, and national security, stressing that the Commission’s role is not just regulatory but transformational. According to him, fighting narcotics is not only about enforcement but also about building a future where young people are protected from the traps of drug addiction and criminal exploitation.
The new Board, composed of security experts, legal professionals, and policy advisors, has been tasked with revitalizing Ghana’s counter-narcotics strategies while ensuring that NACOC remains accountable, transparent, and community-focused in its operations.
Multicdb recognizes this charge as a call to collective vigilance. The fight against drug trafficking is not just a government mandate—it is a national responsibility that requires citizens, institutions, and media platforms to stay informed, alert, and united. As always, Multicdb remains committed to reporting stories that matter and promoting a safer, more just Ghana.
