The Black Stars are set to start their first training session today at the Accra Sports Stadium as they prepare for the vital 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali. This initial training session marks the beginning of focused preparations under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, who will lead the team ahead of these critical fixtures.
Earlier today, several players arrived at Kotoka International Airport after intense weekends with their respective club teams. Among the early arrivals are key figures such as team captain Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Joseph Tetteh Anang, Elisha Owusu, Jonas Adjetey, and Gideon Mensah. These six players have begun assembling at the Black Stars camp in Accra to join the full squad.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points, and the upcoming matches on September 4 and September 8 are pivotal for the team’s ambitions.
The Black Stars are tipped by handful of Ghanaians to secure wins in both games to achieve early qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, maintaining their dominant position in the group.
