Minority Won’t Allow Democratic Legitimacy to Be Undermined - Afenyo-Markin
The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has cautioned that the Minority Caucus will not allow Ghana’s democratic legitimacy to be overturned through what he describes as “judicial improvisation.”
Speaking on recent legal and constitutional developments, Afenyo-Markin stressed that the foundation of Ghana’s democracy rests on respect for due process, the will of the people, and strict adherence to the constitution. He warned that any attempts to stretch legal interpretations in ways that undermine democratic norms would be firmly resisted.
The Minority, he added, remains committed to safeguarding constitutional governance and ensuring that institutional checks and balances are preserved.
