NPP Parliamentary Primary: Akufo-Addo’s Driver, Joseph Addo Wins La Dadekotopon

President Akufo-Addo's long-serving driver, Joseph Addo has secured the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidacy for the La Dadekotopon Constituency.

Defeating his closest challenger, Solomon Kotey Niikio, who received 555 votes, Addo earned 664 votes.

Following the resignation of the elected parliamentary candidate, Dr. Gerald Joseph Tetteh Nyamyofio due to personal reasons, the NPP's National Executive Committee authorized a primary in La Dadekotopon.

His decision to run in the primary was prompted by Dr. Joseph Tetteh's resignation.

After over two decades of serving as President Akufo-Addo's driver, Joseph Addo announced his willingness to serve the constituency.

Joseph Addo recently made an immense contribution to the party by providing an office complex on Ako Adjei Road.

The initiative was deemed appropriate because the party lacked a permanent office facility, forcing executives to work from rented facilities.

During the contribution, the President's driver reiterated his determination to assist the NPP's efforts to reclaim the La Dadekotopon seat from the NDC.

Party members praised his act as a sign of his commitment to the cause.

The NPP's loss of the La Dadekotopon seat to the NDC's Rita Naa Odoley Sowah in the 2020 election has fueled the party's ambition to recapture it in the next elections.
