GREATER ACCRA REGIONAL MINISTER ASSURES FIXING OF STREET LIGHTS WITHIN 50 DAYS.

Hon. Linda Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, has made some exciting announcements to improve the state of Accra.

Within her first 50 days in office, she aims to fix about 70% of the streetlights in Accra, addressing a long-standing issue that has led to increased theft cases and accidents, especially at night.

To tackle street hawking, another major concern in Accra, Hon. Ocloo plans to utilize the task force of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and security forces to enforce regulations.

Additionally, the Hon. Linda Ocloo has acknowledged the ongoing GARID project, which focuses on improving drainage systems to prevent flooding in Accra.

The project, active since 2019, aims to resolve flooding issues around the Odaw basin.

The Minister also emphasized the need for better enforcement of building permit regulations to address urban planning and inappropriate construction practices.
