Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has called out organizers associated with GTBank after a promotional flyer surfaced online implying he was set to perform at an upcoming event a show he says he never agreed to.
In a strongly worded Instagram story, the Grammy-winning artist expressed shock after his management forwarded the flyer to him. Burna Boy insisted he had no knowledge of the event and warned the organizers to immediately “pull that fake stuff down.”
According to him, he is already scheduled to be on tour on December 18, making the advertised appearance impossible. He further emphasized that the bank or any organizer could not meet his performance rate, stating boldly:
“Y’all can’t afford me. It’s $1M for a show!!! #NSOW”
The singer’s statement has since sparked widespread conversation online about the unauthorized use of celebrity images and names in event promotions, a recurring issue in the entertainment industry.
As of now, GTBank or the alleged organizers have not issued any official response regarding the unauthorized promotional material.
