Yagbonwura Champions Peace, Education & Unity: Supports Students, Welcomes Dagbon King & Meets Mahama

Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, the King of the Gonja Kingdom, has called upon the youth of both Gonjaland and Dagbon to remain steadfast in preserving the peace of their kingdoms. He emphasized the importance of promoting development in the areas during a durbar held to welcome the King of Dagbon to the Jakpa Palace in Damongo.

In a related initiative, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I provided financial support to 54 students in the Savannah Region through the Bii-Kunuto Educational Fund. The GHC 181,000.00 funding aims to assist brilliant but financially disadvantaged students in continuing their tertiary education.

Additionally, the King paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at his private office in Accra to congratulate him on his assumption of office. Accompanied by a delegation of chiefs from his Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I participated in the President’s inauguration on January 7 at the Independence Square in Accra.

These actions underscore the King's commitment to fostering unity, education, and collaboration between the Gonja and Dagbon kingdoms, as well as supporting the broader development of the Savannah Region.
