Ghanaian actress, Joselyn Dumas Appointed As The Deputy Director For Diaspora Affairs

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed renowned Ghanaian actress and media personality Joselyn Dumas as the Deputy Director for Diaspora Affairs. This appointment is part of a broader initiative to integrate professionals from the creative industry into significant governmental roles.

In her new position, Dumas will be responsible for engaging with Ghanaians living abroad, promoting the nation's interests, and encouraging investment and tourism. Her extensive network and influence are expected to strengthen connections between Ghana and its diaspora community, enhancing the country's cultural diplomacy and global presence.

This move aligns with previous appointments of creative industry figures to governmental positions. Fashion designer and media personality Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD) has been appointed as the Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, while actress Kafui Danku and actor James Gardiner serve as the Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority, respectively.

The appointment has been met with congratulations from various quarters, including fellow actress Roselyn Ngissah, who expressed excitement about Dumas's new role and encouraged her to make the country proud.
