CEO Malik Basintale Meets Shatta Wale and SHAXI Team for Groundbreaking Youth Employment Partnership

In a bold and visionary move to tackle youth unemployment in Ghana, the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has officially met with Ghanaian music icon Shatta Wale and his SHAXI team to seal a powerful partnership aimed at creating thousands of jobs for young people across the country.

The collaboration between YEA and SHAXI, Shatta Wale’s innovative ride-hailing initiative, marks a significant step in leveraging public-private partnerships to provide sustainable employment opportunities. Under this agreement, YEA will provide GHC500 worth of fuel coupons monthly for the first 2,000 SHAXI vehicles that subscribe to the platform, spanning a six-month support period.

This financial boost is expected to reduce the operational burden on drivers and open doors for more Ghanaian youth to venture into the transport sector. Even more impactful is the plan to incentivize SHAXI vehicles that operate round-the-clock, allowing at least two young individuals to work per vehicle in shifts—enhancing income potential and multiplying employment opportunities.

“This is not just about jobs—it’s about empowering the youth with dignity, innovation, and real economic inclusion,” Malik Basintale emphasized during the meeting.

The partnership showcases how star power, innovation, and government collaboration can drive meaningful social change, offering a blueprint for future initiatives in youth employment and entrepreneurship.
