Accra, Ghana – May 29, 2025 — The Minister for Health, Hon. Mintah Akandoh, has officially sworn in new board members for four of Ghana’s major health institutions, underscoring their critical roles in advancing the country’s ongoing health sector reforms.
The institutions include key regulatory and financing bodies pivotal to the delivery and oversight of healthcare services nationwide. At the swearing-in ceremony, Minister Akandoh charged the newly appointed members to bring transparency, innovation, and efficiency to their respective mandates.
“As the country undertakes ambitious health reforms, your leadership will be vital in regulating standards, expanding access, and ensuring that public health financing meets the needs of all Ghanaians,” he stated.
The boards will be expected to guide institutional strategies in line with national health goals, including improving primary healthcare delivery, ensuring sustainable financing, and strengthening accountability in the sector.
This move is part of a broader government initiative to restructure Ghana’s health system for improved service delivery and universal health coverage.
