Deputy Minister for Health and member of parliament for Essikado-Ketan constituency, Hon. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has once again brought hope to her community through a life changing free health outreach program.
Held at the Grace Mall in Essikado, within the Essikado-Ketan constituency, the latest initiative focused on orthopedic and plastic surgery screenings. Residents with conditions such as tumors, fractures, scars, contractions, and other complications were given professional medical assessments at no cost.
The exercise, which ran from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., attracted nearly 300 residents. Many were scheduled for surgeries to take place on Monday, with Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah and her team of specialists personally attending to each case. Demonstrating her belief in dignity-centered care, she referred to participants not as patients but as “clients.”
Beyond consultations, the Deputy Minister extended her philanthropy by donating assistive devices: three wheelchairs—two for women and one for a gentleman—and a walking stick to individuals with disabilities. Her gesture reflected a deep commitment to improving lives not only within hospital walls but also in daily living.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah pledged to sustain such screenings and prioritize investments in health infrastructure, including upgrades to local facilities and CHPS compounds. These efforts, she emphasized, align with the government’s broader vision to strengthen primary health care across Ghana.
Her initiative transcends politics, it is a reflection of compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication to service. For the people of Essikado-Ketan, her promise of accessible, quality health care is more than words; it is a beacon of hope.
