Family of Late Actor, Junior Pope Announces
Date for Burial and Funeral Rites.
The family of the late Nollywood actor and
film producer, John Paul Obumneme Odonwodo, widely known as Junior Pope, has
put out details of his burial arrangements.
Junior Pope’s sudden death occurred as a
result of a boat mishap on April 10, 2024 together with other crew members on a
film production journey.
Funeral rites of the late actor commenced on
April 23 with a requiem at the Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta
State, Nigeria.
On May 13, another requiem will take place at
the Christ the King Catholic Parish in G.R.A, Enugu, in honour of the deceased.
On May 14, sympathizers, colleague actors,
friends, well-wishers, friends and loved ones will pay their last respect and
celebrate his life at the Amadeo Ceremony Centre in Enugu accompanied by
touching tributes and a candlelight vigil to share heartfelt words that convey
remembrance and celebrate the life of the departed.
A wake-keeping ceremony is scheduled for May
16, at his hometown, Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukkaa, Igboetti LGA of Enugu
State, for the people in his community to bid farewell to their own. Junior
Pope’s final rites of passage will take place on May 17, following the burial
mass at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukehe, as he is laid to rest in his ancestral land.
A final thanksgiving service is scheduled to
take place on Sunday, May 19, at St. Peter’s Parish Ukehe Nsukkaa, Igboetti
LGA, Enugu, to express gratitude for his life legacy well-lived.
