Societe Generale Clears the Air on their Exit
Societe Generale, a French bank which has been operating in Ghana for twenty years has dismissed claims suggesting its withdrawal from Ghana.
They describe the rumour as baseless speculation.
The bank, however, stated that they are restructuring their operations to fit into the international market.
In their 44th annual general anniversary, the General Managing Director, Hakim Ouzanni stated that the reports were untrue and not from the bank.
As part of the restructuring, they have finalized deals with the Saham Group to offload Morrocco of its operations.
In 2023, they did same to several African countries including Chad.
As part of growing their brand, they have therefore decided to focus their resources in countries that will help it.
They cited the long-standing operations in Africa as it aims to be the leading bank.
