4 Teenage Nursing Mothers, 6 Pregnant Girls Sit 2024 BECE at Kechiebi Exam Center – Oti Region
Over 1,900 candidates are sitting this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Nkwanta SouthDistrict of the Oti Region.
Among these candidates are four teenage nursing mothers and six pregnant girls who are determined to complete their basic education despite their unique circumstances.
The decision to write the BECE while pregnant or nursing a baby is highly demanding as these young inexperience mothers face numerous challenges such as fatigue, morning sickness, and the demands of caring for a newborn.
However, they are determined to overcome these obstacles and achieve their academic goals.
A visit to Kechiebi RC exam center revealed how some family members are babysitting newborns of their teenage relatives while their mothers were busy writing their exams.
Meanwhile, the exams coordinator at the Kechiebi center,Lawrence Antwi, warned teachers and candidates to stay away from any form of exams malpractices.
According to him, candidates were fully prepared henceteachers and candidates should not make any attempt to comprise the examination process.
He advised candidates to take every aspect of the exams serious to enable them excel.
Some of the candidates also pledged to comply with the examination rules to avoid any temptation that will jeopardize their academic success.
