Ghana Police Service Refutes Claims of Pursuing NDC Deputy Communications DirectorMalik Basintale

The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has firmly denied allegationscirculating on social media that Malik Basintale, the Deputy Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been declared wanted by the Police.

In a statement released on Thursday, September 5, the GPS categorically dismissed the report, labeling it as false.

"We wish to categorically state that the claim is false," the statement stressed while urging the public to disregard the misleading information.

The police further explained that no official communication or arrest warrant had been issued for Basintale's apprehension, and that any reports suggesting otherwise were baseless.

They also warned against the spread of unverified information, emphasising the importance of checking facts before disseminating content online.

This rebuttal follows a series of social media posts that created public concern, with some users questioning the motives behind the alleged pursuit.

However, the police have assured citizens that they remain committed to transparency and will address any falsehoods that arise.

The Ghana Police Service has encouraged the public to seek credible sources for accurate information and to report suspicious news to the authorities to avoid the spread of false information.
