In the course of the visit on November 14, 2024, President Akuffo Addo was conferred a prestigious title of Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur(Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour), one of the most prestigious honours within France’s Légion d’Honneur(France’s Legion Honour), an order established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802 to recognise individuals who demonstrate exceptional service to France and the global community to celebrate his notable contributions to diplomacy, democratic governance, and international cooperation.
This esteemed award is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to France and the wider global community in fields ranging from public service and international diplomacy to arts, science, and humanitarian efforts.
Accompanying the President to this courtesy visit were The Majority Leader of Parliament, Afenyo Markins, Education Minister, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, Minister for Children and Social Protection, Darkoa Newman, Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botwe, the First Lady, Rebecca Akuffo Addo and others.
