The Majority Caucus in Parliament has shuffled its leadership with Mahama Ayariga, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, Rockson Dafeamekpor and Richard Acheampong taking over the front bench of the House.
Like its former front bench occupants, the new leadership will drive the government’s legislative businesses and see to their successful completion.
FULL DETAIL BELOW:
Majority Leader – Hon. Mahama Ayariga (MP, Bawku Central)
Deputy Majority Leader – Hon. George Kwaku Ricketts-Hagan (MP, Cape Coast South)
Majority Chief Whip – Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor (MP, South Dayi)
1st Deputy Majority Whip – Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah (MP, Ada)
2nd Deputy Majority Whip – Hon. Richard Achampong (MP, Bia West).
The change comes on the back of President Mahama’s appointment of the Caucus’ leader, now former Majority Leader, and economist, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Finance Minister.
His deputy, now former Deputy Majority Leader, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, has also been appointed Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
With these key appointments, it was expected that the Majority will do the needful, and it eventually did.
