King Promise Crowned Artiste of the Year at 26th Ghana Music Awards


In a night filled with glamour, music, and unforgettable performances, Afrobeat sensation King Promise emerged as the biggest winner at the 26th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), taking home the coveted Artiste of the Year title.


The prestigious event, held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrated Ghana’s rich musical talent, and King Promise’s win marks a major milestone in his career. Known for his smooth vocals, consistent hits, and international appeal, the “Terminator” hitmaker beat out tough competition from other top contenders including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Kuami Eugene, and Nacee.

Taking the stage to accept the award, King Promise expressed gratitude to his fans, team, and the Ghanaian music industry at large.

“This is for every dreamer out there. Thank you Ghana for believing in me. This is a win for all of us,” he said, visibly emotional.


His victory follows a year of impressive achievements, including sold-out shows, chart-topping releases, and strong international recognition, particularly across Africa and Europe.

The 26th edition of the Ghana Music Awards also saw performances from some of the nation’s hottest acts and tributes to legendary figures in Ghanaian music. It was a night that highlighted both the past and future of Ghana’s musical journey.
