The No-Fees-Stress initiative, a major government-backed program aimed at easing the financial burden on first-year tertiary students, is gaining strong traction across the country. As of this morning, the dedicated application portal has been accessed by 120,751 applicants, with 98,861 students having successfully completed their applications.
According to Hajia Dr. Saajida Shiraz, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), the Fund has already received enrolment data for 79,476 students from public tertiary institutions through the Tertiary Institutions Portal.
Validation efforts are currently underway. So far, 22,592 students have been successfully validated by SLTF as eligible for fee reimbursement under the initiative. This marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to support access to higher education by reducing financial stress on students and their families.
Hajia Dr. Shiraz emphasized that the SLTF is on course to reimburse the academic fees of all eligible first-year public tertiary students for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The No-Fees-Stress program is not just a financial intervention—it is a critical step toward equitable education and national development. It reflects a broader commitment to ensure that no student is left behind due to economic barriers.
Multicdb commends this initiative and stands with all institutions working to create access and relief for Ghana’s future thinkers, creators, and leaders.
