Former President John Dramani Mahama has assured the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) of his unwavering commitment to improving the working and living conditions of teachers across the country.
Addressing the leadership of GNAT during an engagement session, the former President acknowledged the critical role teachers play in shaping Ghana’s future and emphasized that any serious national development agenda must prioritize their welfare. He described the teaching profession as “the foundation of every progressive society” and pledged to implement targeted policies that enhance motivation, job security, and career development for educators.
Mahama also recognized the current challenges facing teachers, including delayed promotions, inadequate resources, and rising living costs. He promised that under his leadership, education financing and teacher support systems would be strengthened to ensure dignity, fairness, and improved quality of life for educators at all levels.
The meeting was part of broader consultations with key stakeholders in the education sector ahead of the 2024 general elections, as Mahama continues to shape his policy proposals and national vision.
At Multicdb, we believe every teacher deserves more than just praise—they deserve protection, progress, and purposeful investment. Ghana’s future is being nurtured in the classroom, and national commitments to teachers must move beyond promises to action.
