GFA President Launches CAF Safe Stadium Workshop to Bolster African Football Security

 


President of Ghana Football Association and and CAF Second Vice-President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku officially opened a three-day CAF Safe Stadium Initiative workshop.



Initiative that took place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the GFA Headquarters in Accra In a decisive step toward eradicating stadium tragedies across the continent.


Highlighting CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s commitment to fostering secure and welcoming football environments, Okraku noted “Since our President took office, one of his foremost promises has been to deliver football in a very safe environment for all consumers of our sport.”


The program which run through September 19 brought together safety and security officers from all 18 Ghana Premier League clubs, members of the GFA Security Committee, and 16 Regional Sports Police Officers to delve into CAF’s standardized protocols on accreditation, access control, crowd management, and risk assessment.
