EC Staff Petition President Mahama to Remove Jean Mensa and Her Deputies
A group of staff from the Electoral Commission (EC) has formally petitioned President John Dramani Mahama, calling for the removal of Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies.
According to the petitioners, the current leadership has presided over what they describe as administrative inconsistencies and an environment that has weakened internal confidence within the Commission. They argue that new leadership is necessary to restore trust, efficiency, and cohesion as Ghana prepares for future electoral activities.
The petition has reportedly been submitted through the appropriate channels and is expected to be reviewed by the Office of the President. Neither the EC nor the Presidency has issued an official public response yet.
This developing story is attracting national attention, given the sensitive role the Electoral Commission plays in safeguarding the integrity of Ghana’s democratic process.
More updates soon.
