Foh Amoaning Claims University of Ghana Has Changed Its Status to Admit Transgender and LGBTQIA+ Activities
Accra, Ghana - Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Foh Amoaning, has alleged that the University of Ghana has adjusted its institutional status to allow the admission of transgender persons and activities linked to the LGBTQIA+ community.
The claim was made during a media engagement, where Mr. Amoaning expressed concerns over what he described as increasing tolerance for LGBTQIA+ visibility within academic spaces.
While making the allegation, he suggested that the development reflects what he believes is a broader shift in the handling of gender and sexuality issues across some public institutions.
The University of Ghana, however, has not issued any official statement confirming or responding to the claim. As of now, the university’s publicly available policies have not announced any formal change regarding LGBTQIA+ admissions or related activities.
Mr. Amoaning and his organization remain vocal advocates for the passage and enforcement of policies aimed at restricting LGBTQIA+ activities in the country. His recent comments add to ongoing national discussions and controversies surrounding gender identity, sexual orientation, and institutional policy in Ghana.
Further updates are expected if the University of Ghana responds to the claims or clarifies its position.
