Ukrainian Parents Find Creative Way for Kids to Play Soccer During Blackouts

As cities and towns across Ukraine continue to struggle with frequent power outages, parents in the city of Cherkasy have come up with a creative solution to keep children active and entertained.

To help kids continue playing soccer in the dark, families organized improvised nighttime games using portable lighting and glow-in-the-dark equipment. The setup allows young players to stay safe while enjoying the sport despite ongoing electricity shortages caused by the war.

Community members say the initiative has not only kept children engaged but has also offered a sense of normalcy and resilience during challenging times.
