Promise Speaks About His Sold-Out Concert, International Tour and New Exploits
Ghanaian Highlife and Afrobeat singer, Gregory
Bortey Newman who goes by the stage name, King Promise made history as the
first Ghanaian artiste to host sold-out concerts in Asia following his concert
on the 26th of April, 2024 in Singapore.
The talented artiste made Ghana proud with a
thrilling performance at the Tipsy Unicorn Beach House in Singapore.
In an interview with a news platform, King
Promise expressed a sense of fulfillment and joy over how the Asians related to
his music and were able to sing his lyrics effortlessly.
The Afrobeat singer also stated that he is
done with his Asia tour and he is currently embarking on another tour in
Canada. He recounted that he was in the course of embarking on his Canada tour
in 2020 but the outbreak of the global pandemic, COVID 19 hindered that.
According to him, his next tour would take
place in North America right after his Canada tour ends. King Promise admitted
that he appreciates music collaborations with other artistes from different
parts of the world because it helps tap into the audience from different
countries which in a long run contributes to making one known and further
gather huge fan base for oneself.
The talented musician strongly believes the
internet plays a key role in promoting their craft. He mentioned Tiktok as one
of the many social media platforms that made his song, ‘Terminator’ go to
viral.
King Promise also opened up about his new
album which he looks forward to releasing this year. He is also contemplating
on hosting a concert at the Indigo O2 Arena in the UK. However, he is not in a
haste to organize that concert. He believes it deserves a gradual process in
order to be well executed.
Speaking on his stand on people doubting his
capability of winning the artiste of the year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards
(TGMA) this year, King Promise expressed great optimism as he equally commended
other nominees, stating that everyone is worth-deserving of the award.
The talented Afrobeats singer said he
represents Ghana in high esteem and called on Ghanaians to show a little more
support to musicians to enable them make great strives with their music.
