Voter Registration: NDC Members in Nkoranza North Accuse NPP of Aiding
Foreigners to Register
The
National Democratic Congress (NDC) has invoked curses on the New Patriotic
Party (NPP) and strangers being smuggled in to register in the ongoing limited
registration exercise in Nkoranza North District of the Bono East region.
The
NDC is on guard to prevent any plans and attempts by the ruling NPP to assist
minors and foreigners in acquiring voter ID in the ongoing registration
exercise in the Nkoranza North district.
The
constituency secretary of the NDC, Emmanuel Ballasi, in an interview said they
will not hesitate to bring to book any foreigner attempting to register.
According
to the secretary, an NPP-branded vehicle was seen transporting foreigners to
one of the centers to register.
Mr.
Ballasi explained that the NDC executives observed some unknown and
non-resident individuals in Nkoranza North which led them to invoke curses on
any stranger attempting to register in the constituency.
"We
believe our actions are in demand of natural justice, and the people of
Nkoranza North are living witnesses to this", he said.
In
conclusion, the NDC's bold stance against alleged voter fraud in Nkoranza North
sends a strong message of the party’s preparedness to protect the integrity of
the electoral process prevent any attempts to compromise it.
"As
the political landscape continues to evolve, it's crucial that all stakeholders
prioritize transparency, accountability, and the democratic values that
underpin Ghana's vibrant democracy", Mr. Emmanuel Ballasi stated.
