Police Begin Investigations Into Shooting Incident At Agona West




The Ghana Police Service have commenced e the shooting incident that occurred in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region during the weekend.


The shooting incident was reported to have occurred whensome party supporters were returning from the campaign launch of the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate, Chris Arthur in Otinkorang on the evening of Sunday, October 27, 2024.


It explained that, an altercation erupted when the Chris Arthur team came in contact with some supporters of Cynthia Morrison who were also engaged in a mini rally resulting in the shooting incident.


In a press release on Monday, October 28, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that the incident left four individuals injured.


According to the Service, its officers have taken striding steps to investigate the issue at hand since Sunday night when the incident occurred.

“The Ghana Police Service is investigating a shooting incident that occurred during political campaign activities in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region on the evening of Sunday, 27th October 2024.


“Four individuals sustained injuries during the incident, with two treated and discharged, while the remaining two are still on admission receiving medical care.


“The Police have been actively working on the case throughout Sunday night when the incident happened and are closing in on the perpetrator to get him arrested to face justice,” the Ghana Police Service said in its press release.

The Police Service, however, pledged its commitment to carry out a thorough investigation while assuring the general public of maximum security before, during and after the upcoming December 7 general elections.
