Majority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markins, has declared that the Majority caucus will not occupy the Minority seat following a ruling from the Supreme Court which stopped the Speaker from declaring the four seats vacant.

The Speaker made this declaration after the Supreme Court announced their final decision on the issue on November 12,2024 after the meeting on November 11,2024.

The issues arising are as a result of the four vacant seats, claiming that these lawmakers had violated constitutional mandates, which justifies their removal.

According to the Majority Leader, the Speaker had exceeded authority of declaring those seats vacant without the call for a by election. He said speaker’s decision has created a lot of problems than was expected.

“The minority must occupy their rightful seats.”“We will never take the Minority seats, never.” The Majority Leader has declared.
