Determined to Succeed, I Skip School for Studio Time- Rastino

Afrobeat/ Afro-Pop sensation Rastino has opened about his unwavering drive to make it in the music industry, sharing that his determination to succeed once drove him to leave school behind temporarily to record songs.

In a candid interview during a radio session on Accra-based station Okay FM hosted by renowned media personality Abeiku Santana, the “WHY” hitmaker reflected on the sacrifices he made early in his career. Rastino revealed that his passion for music often clashed with his academic responsibilities, forcing him to make tough choices.

"I’ve always known music is my calling," he said. "Back in school, while others were focused on their books, I use to run away from school to the studio located in Ho, far away from Have Technical Institute where I schooled. Sometimes, I’d go days without attending classes just to chase my dreams. It wasn’t easy, but I knew what I wanted."

Rastino’s bold decisions, though controversial at the time, have clearly paid off. Today, he is celebrated as one of Ghana's promising Afrobeat stars, with a growing fanbase and performances at major events, including his electric set at PRAMFEST 2024 in Prampram-Accra.

Rastino’s journey from a schoolboy skipping classes to recording music to becoming a household name highlights the power of perseverance and self-belief. His story continues to inspire many young Ghanaians chasing dreams in music and other fields as well.

With his determination and growing success, Rastino is proving that sometimes unconventional paths lead to extraordinary destinations, though may not be accepted by many, it pushes the actor go the extra mile to make dreams happen.
