The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has cast his vote in the Walewale constituency in the North East Region, which happens to be his hometown.
As a presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia aims to become Ghana's next president.
He has expressed his admiration for the determination of citizens to cast their ballots in the ongoing elections, noting the calm and peaceful atmosphere across the country. He praised the enthusiasm of voters, many of whom queued up from midnight to exercise their right.
When asked about his expected margin of victory, Dr. Bawumia humbly replied, "A victory is a victory, we just want to win, and by the grace of God will win."
A victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate, would indeed be historic, as he would become the first Muslim president of Ghana. This milestone would break new ground in Ghana's political landscape, showcasing the country's commitment to religious tolerance and diversity.
