A devastating fire has ravaged the Kwadaso Wood Market in the Ashanti Region for the second time in two weeks, leaving traders to count their losses.
The blaze, which began on the night of Sunday, January 19, 2024, has caused widespread destruction, with multiple stalls and properties reduced to ashes.
Eyewitnesses report that the fire destroyed the main sawmill, essential equipment, and logs of wood valued at thousands of cedis.
Despite the efforts of firefighters, the inferno proved difficult to contain.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. However, traders are appealing to the government for assistance to recover from the disaster, which comes on the heels of a similar fire just two weeks prior.
