Sarkodie playfully reacts as Shatta Wale offers free Shaxi rides to celebrities

Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has made a generous announcement — every well-known celebrity in Ghana who uses his ride-hailing service, Shaxi, will ride for free.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shatta Wale stated that Shaxi will cover the full cost of trips taken by celebrities, while also ensuring that its drivers are fully compensated.

“Every known celebrity in Ghana who takes Shaxi for the experience will be exempt from payment, as Shaxi will cover the cost and compensate its drivers. Thank you 🙏,” he posted.

The announcement sparked excitement — and laughter — when award-winning rapper Sarkodie replied with a humorous twist:

“Don’t know if I’m known but I need it today as pocket make slow small… 🙏🏾 #SHAXIGHANA”

The playful response quickly gained traction online, with fans praising both artists for their banter and mutual support of local entrepreneurship.

Shaxi, launched by Shatta Wale in 2021, aims to create jobs for Ghana’s youth by offering a locally owned alternative to mainstream ride-hailing platforms.
