Free School Bus Service for Day Students in Essikado-Ketan

The Essikado-Ketan Constituency has announced a transformative initiative aimed at easing daily commutes for students. A new Free School Bus Service will be provided to all day students within the constituency, with operations set to run through 2028
.

Spearheaded by MP Hon. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, the program is designed to enhance mobility to school, reduce barriers to attendance, and promote a smoother and more efficient learning experience for students in the Essikado-Ketan constituency. By alleviating travel-related challenges, the initiative seeks to ensure that more students arrive on time and ready to learn.

The project is framed as part of a broader commitment to education and youth welfare. It aligns with President Mahama’s stated goals of improving the welfare and educational opportunities for young people across Ghana. Supporters say the bus service reflects a hands-on, community-focused approach to expanding access to education in Essikado-Ketan.

Details about routes, pickup points, safety measures, and enrollment procedures are expected to be shared by the MP’s office in the coming weeks. Stakeholders including parents, teachers, and local officials are eagerly awaiting a clearer implementation timeline and budgetary specifics.

What this means for students and families:

  • Improved access to education: More students can attend classes consistently without worrying about transportation costs or unreliable timetables.
  • Enhanced punctuality and learning outcomes: Regular, timely arrivals set a positive tone for the school day.
  • Community investment in education: The program signals a sustained commitment to developing Ghana’s youth and supporting families.

As the program rolls out, officials urge residents to stay tuned for updates on enrollment, routes, safety guidelines, and any eligibility criteria. The initiative is being positioned as a practical step toward stronger educational outcomes in the Essikado-Ketan constituency.
