Aba Dope: “Having a Child Out of Wedlock Isn’t a Crime” - Influencer Speaks Her Truth
Ghanaian entrepreneur and social media personality Aba Dope has sparked conversation after boldly defending her decision to have a child outside of marriage, saying society has no right to judge women who choose that path.
Speaking on Okay FM with Nana Romeo on November 14, 2025, Aba Dope revealed that becoming a mother was a deliberate and well-thought-out life choice, not an accident or an act of irresponsibility.
“As you’re growing, things change and you make life decisions. My life decision is, I don’t want to get committed to anyone or think of getting married,” she said.
She further explained that her lifestyle focused, ambitious, and constantly working shaped her decision to become a mother sooner rather than later.
“I just wanted a child because I know my capabilities. I’m very hardworking, so I might be busy and grow without a child. I calculated my plans very well and decided to have a child last year.”
Aba Dope stressed that motherhood and marriage are not bound together, and women should feel empowered to choose their path without apology.
Her bold statement has since stirred conversation across social media, with many praising her honesty and others questioning societal expectations placed on women.
