Legal practitioner Hamza Suhuyini has clarified that the ongoing debate surrounding the rights of Muslim students in schools should not be framed as a conflict between Islam and Christianity.
According to him, the matter is rooted in the need to uphold and enforce fundamental human rights, particularly the freedom of religion guaranteed by Ghana’s Constitution.
He emphasized that discussions must remain focused on ensuring that every student regardless of faith is treated fairly and granted full access to their legally protected rights.
Suhuyini’s comments add nuance to the national conversation, especially as the Supreme Court examines allegations of religious restrictions in some schools.
