OSP Clarifies Status of INTERPOL Red Notice Application Concerning Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a public notice addressing ongoing misinformation regarding the INTERPOL Red Notice proceedings involving Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta.

According to the statement, in October 2025, the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files formally notified Ghanaian authorities that Mr. Ofori-Atta had applied for the removal of his name from INTERPOL’s Red Notice system. Ghana subsequently submitted its official response on 22 October 2025.

Further communication from the Commission on 7 November 2025 indicated that Mr. Ofori-Atta had filed additional arguments as part of his application. Ghanaian authorities were requested to provide their response to these new arguments by 21 November 2025.

The OSP emphasized that proceedings are still ongoing, and the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files is actively reviewing the case. As is standard procedure, details such as the applicant’s name, image, and case specifics may be restricted from public access until a final determination is made.

The public notice strongly urges citizens to disregard all false or misleading publications, describing them as acts of mischief and misinformation.

The clarification was issued on 19 November 2025, accompanied by the OSP’s official communication channels.
